Binge Eating Disorder–My struggles

I used to be super skinny and restricted myself from everything I loved to eat for two years. Now food is a huge problem for me, and I can binge up to 5000 calories in one sitting.

I am sharing very personal things but I want people to know what it’s like and how it’s ruining my life.

I know how you feel …
I know how you feel. It drives me crazy how people don’t seem to be able to recognize that BED is a real problem. They’re just so insensitive about it. They have all the sypmathy in the world for anorexics and bulimics, but when they hear of BED, they scoff and just say to “put down the fork” or some other insensitive comment like that.

It really sucks. It’s truly hard, and no one else really understands…or even wants to.

I hope that we can both get our binging problems under control. :)

    Yeah, if you click …
Yeah, if you click on my channel, I am the one in all of the videos,(playing violin) Someone asked me before. I’ve been getting over problems, and have gone around to a couple of eating disorder videos because it makes me realize how much it’s like what I was going through, and the process of getting better. I really did have an eating disorder a while ago, though. ED’s to me are like pressing pause on your life. Just keep thinking about your dreams, because an ED will really hurt them.

No one can do that …
No one can do that for you. It’s your job to fix it.

    Really, your …
Really, your friends are right. You should try to kick out the thoughts of food when you have them too. Eating disorders are just us not being able to control our thoughts, which are usually caused from something unrelated to food, but not always. Just slowly try to chill about the food and find something that really captivates you, and gets you out of your prison. I really do understand what you’re saying though, and it was very interesting to watch.
You won’t be happy till you can achieve that

    I understand. I …
I understand. I went from Anorexic to BED (on a very small scale.) I think we just have problems with overdoing things and making things harder than they are. Eating doesn’t have to be a struggle, or confusing. Being really healthy means you think a lot about food, and it’s so easy to go the other way, and think a lot about good tasting food, and enjoying it. If you want to be normal about your food, try to chill about it, and maybe replace an encounter with food with a really fun activity.

    Promised you’ll …
Promised you’ll lose at least 15 lbs in a month. All you need is walk on the treadmill 45 minutes / 4 days a week. You were skinny before and you still in your 20s. Simple cardio will help you lose weight fast, don’t waste your time with other work out yet. I was in your shoes, it works for many girls that I recommended to. Good luck.

    What is your doctor …
What is your doctor doing for you? This is really sad….I am with you. I gained 75lbs in like 1yr. I am sooo sad and depressed. I am doing Weight Watchers and it really helps my intake. i lost like 10lbs in 10 days. But i know it’s probly mostly water, but hey its a start. Have you thought about appetite suppressants just until you gain some control?Talk to your doctor because he should be helping you gain control of your appetite…send me a note we can talk about it..

It could really get teriibly frustrating. I added like 8 inches around the waist in a year. My clothes won’t fit me anymore. It’s a shame but I must admit it. I feel terrible when I see my old pics.

i know EXACTLY what you are going through! I’m going through the same its really nice to know i’m not alone. i don’t know what to do either. no body knows what its like to gain weight after an eating disorder. not only is it the mostl painful realisations to deal with, but the fat is impossible to get off again
