How do I stop binge eating during dinner time?

I eat healthy all day and for reasons I'm not sure of, I tend to eat too much at dinnertime. I know this is why I'm gaining weight, and it's not healthy, but I can't seem to get this under control, any suggestions? Thank you.

is someone at hour house a really good cook or something? if the food is reallly good it will be hard to stop, but if someone else tries to learn to cook, you might not be so willing to eat as much for a while until the food quality gets better, by which time you will have developed different habits.

i was also going to suggest drinking water before you eat. it will fill you up a little. and wait about 20 mintues after you ae to get seconds. you stomach and brain can catch up to each other and tell you that your full.

also just thinkabout all the extra food and left overs to eat for tomorrow!

Try to eat more in the morning and at noon, then drink a lot of water because that tends to help you fill up. Try not to go back for seconds

eat a small low fat snack before dinner, like 20 minutes before. or just eat small amounts through out the day. its also a good way to boost metabolism, and maintain blood sugar levels so you dont crash

Make it a habit to fight craving by drinking water. As you resist the urge to eat, it be comes easier as your mind gains "experience" by refusing to eat after as a habit. Also, some times people mistake the feeling of being dehydrated as being hungry.

Do you also snack during the day? For most people, having a snack an hour or two before dinner tends to curb the appetite so that you don't eat so much during dinner. Great ideas for snacks include, fruit (especially bananas), nuts (if you're not allergic), trailmix, a granola bar, smoothie, raw veggies like carrots and celery sticks, etc…

If you choose to, you can make your own granola bars or energy bars. Check out the link below.

Simple. Only eat when you're hungry. Okay, so I know it's not that easy and you actually are hungry at dinnertime. When you eat healthy all day, you sometimes allow yourself to eat more at night, using your healthy daytime habits as your logic. Plus, it's easy to eat healthier during the day because you are usually busier and are typically away from your kitchen where things can go wrong. So, here's a simple remedy. It's called portion control for bingers. Take a plastic plate and mark on it with a permanent marker, or buy a plate that has special sections. Draw a line down the center of your plate and then divide one of those halves in half. You will have two small sections and one large one. You can only eat this much. The vegetables go on the large portion. The meat/protein goes on one small one, and the grains goes on the other small portion. Prepare your plate in the kitchen and then DO NOT go back into the kitchen. It also helps not to buy foods that you know are really easy to grab a bunch of and keep eating - like cookies or chips. Someone else mentioned eating a small snack and drinking water before dinner, and that is an excellent idea as well. Also, if you feel like you need a snack after dinner, you can, but try to make a healthy choice, not a regretable one.
