Do You Snore? Article - Health Articles
Snoring often occurs when the air flowing from the nasal passages is obstructed. Vibrations are then produced when the soft palate makes contact with the uvula. You might also snore because of a poor dental bite, poor muscle tone in the throat and tongue, a nasal deformity, or a large tongue. Snorers need to take naps because they wake up exhausted, even though they seem sound asleep. They also have morning headaches and are irritable, can’t focus on their work, and exhibit mood swings. Binge Eating is Not Black and White
Binge Eating is Not Black and White

It’s the little things that you will need to notice and congratulate yourself on when beginning the recovery process of Binge Eating Disorder. These little things will be the stepping stones to gaining full control over yourself when food is involved. These tiny stepping stones will prove to you that you are in control, at least somewhat control, of your actions. It’s time for you to rejoice in them, instead of beating yourself up about why you aren’t fully recovered yet.
Are you someone that binges twice a day for about five days out of the week? What are your trigger foods that you binge on? Let’s say that an example day of binging for you includes three bags of chips, one whole cake, one gallon of ice cream, ten cookies, and three sugary, carbonated drinks. When you start to take notice of you eating less, you need to pat yourself on the back. Instead of three bags of chips, do you only consume one? If so, this is a building block for your road to success. Instead of ten cookies, do you only eat two? Again, time to congratulate yourself for this accomplishment.
The reason why this is so important for your recovery is because most people see their life as black or white. Their life is either good or bad, right or wrong, sad or happy. Who puts these stipulations on us? Why such extremes? When you rid yourself of these chains and start living your life in most of the gray area, you will take things as they come and not be so hard on yourself for failing. Extremes will lead you to failure because it will be highly impossible that you will be able to live that way.
When you can learn to accept yourself, including all of your flaws, this is when you move into the gray area of life. The gray area allows for mistakes and is a constant learning experience. The gray area also allows falling, but pushes you to get right back up. The gray area is where we all need to be living; but sadly, it is not most of our realities.
We put insurmountable pressure on ourselves to be perfect. We want the perfect car, the perfect outfit, the perfect body. Society helps to fill our head with the perfect mentality. Anything short of that will not do. We are taught that perfectionism is the only way and that we should all constantly be striving for it.
Get out of that mindset. You will only be setting yourself up for failure. It’s the harsh reality of it. Learn to live and prosper in the gray area. Congratulate yourself for the small things that you overcome throughout your day. It’s when you are at the point of seeing your obstacles being taken over by you that you will be creating your own path for recovery of Binge Eating Disorder.

A binge can last for as little as a few hours to days, even weeks at a time. If you maintain your current weight, you need to stop. This article will address several ways on how to stop binge eating.
The first step you should take is stop unhealthy binge eating. Eliminate unhealthy junk foods from your home. Fill your home with healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. If you must binge, eat healthy foods only to help avoid weight gain.
You should keep all foods in the kitchen and out of site. The more you see food, the more likely you are to want food. Many people binge because they are not paying attention to if they are really hungry or not. You could be watching a television program with a bag of chips in your lap. Before you know it, the whole bag is gone. Your mind was occupied by the television program. This is why it is very important to keep all your foods in the kitchen and only eat at the dinner table.
You can help stop binge eating by drinking more water throughout the day. You should drink 8-12 glasses of water each day. Drinking water will fill your stomach up and reduce hunger. Drink plenty of water between means and plenty of water before a meal. Do not think you can go drinking soda or unhealthy drinks. Drink water only.
Boredom can lead to heavy eating. If you are not doing anything and you feel the sudden urge to eat, find something to occupy your time before you actually go and eat anything. You could do exercises or play a game. I would suggest going for a walk. If you were not really hungry, the urge to eat would have disappeared.
If you are in a stressed or emotional state, find something other than eating to ease your pain. You may have to work with a counselor to identify what is actually wrong and help you cope. If you binge every time your stressed or emotional your forming a habit. Many people consciously know they are overeating but tell themselves, I’ll just stop when I am no longer stressed or emotional. This is not the right mindset to have.
People who binge often lack any self control. It is you alone that tells yourself to eat, and it is you alone who can just as easily tell yourself not to eat. You must strengthen your will power to stop binge eating. Before you eat anything ask yourself, do I really need this? Am I really hungry? Can I go without having this? Feel your body out and answer these questions. If you feel like you are going to go crazy if you do not eat something, grab an apple instead junk food. Also as long as you are chewing your mind thinks your eating. You can try chewing sugar free gum and trick your mind.

Using Exercise To Overcome Obesity
Exercise is an important part of overcoming obesity. There are many ways to exercise. It is important to start small and gradually increase intensity so as not to injure yourself.
Using Exercise to Overcome Obesity
First, you have to decide if you want to focus on cardio or strength training. Because of its focus on fat burning, those who are obese are often encouraged to focus on cardio initially. Cardio workouts raise the heart rate so that the body is able to burn fat efficiently. Strength training focuses on building muscle, which increases the amount of fat burn while you are resting. Because they complement each other, most exercise programs incorporate both strength training and cardio.
Because a trip to the gym can be intimidating, many choose to exercise from the comfort of their own home. You can use equipment as simple as milk jug or soup cans for weight to an in-home gym that can often be purchased for a reasonable price. A recumbent bike is a good investment when beginning a workout regimen because it is gentle on the knee joints. An exercise ball is also a good investment. The ball can be used to increase balance, stability, and abdominal strength. After becoming comfortable with the exercise ball, you can move on to more advanced moves that provide a total body workout.
If walking is your exercise of choice, there are many options. A treadmill allows you to walk in the comfort of your own home. There are also video series such as Walk Away the Pounds that facilitate in-home walking. A pedometer is an essential piece of equipment to measure your progress when using walking as a means of weight loss. The pedometer counts the number of steps you make throughout the day. A goal of 10,000 steps is encouraged to get the most benefit from walking. More on Obesity.
